The steel is poured and solidified in moulds. After solidification, the ingots are unmoulded. In both cases, the result obtained is called semi-finished products.
These semi-finished products are reheated in ovens to 1,200°C so that they can be laminated, that is to say, stretched and flattened by passing between rollers.
After rolling, two families of products are presented: long ones (Rebars, bars, wire rods, etc.) and flat ones (sheets or coils).
During the 2nd transformation, wire rod is used to manufacture various drawn wires, welded mesh, light metal beams, strands, etc. while the coils are the source for manufacturing spiral welded tubes.
